First off, if someone says they've been by the bedside of a colleague/friend/family, it's pretty shitty to slag them or question their motivations. His cartoons have become crap, he doesn't treat his fan base well, but making him into some vulture hovering over a hospital bed is too fucking much. A bad animator isn't always a bad person.

And speaking of bad animation, his cartoons are still just the same old thing. I suppose if you like that one thing, he's a great animator consistently churning out quality work. But I want a little bit of diversity and creativity and he just hasn't delivered in any significant way for a looooooooooong time. Now, it's just tired.

If you want to rebuild a reputation, IWP, start by not churning out stuff just to meet some artifical deadline. Quality takes time. Make some new characters and some new plotlines (or A plotline) and, most importantly, cut back on the Foamy now and then. There's only so much squirrel a man can take.

And why can't we all get along?...;)

Very sleek graphical design. I'll admit that I was expecting some type of kaleidoscope simulation, as if you were actually peering into an actual kaleidoscope and turning it round. Not to say that there's anything wrong with this at all. Great job.

I was stunned by the hubris of the author in the creation of this.

Regardless of the interpretations of the biblical scripture (which is another whole discussion in and of itself), the implication, however faint or unintentional, that these were somehow more accurate/correct intrepretations of the Bible...I'm speechless.

To label any religious faith who fails to go to worship on Saturday as being a false church? Has the absolute divine truth been dispensed through this humble flash artist and I didn't know about it? Wow, I better go get on the Popephone and call His Holiness on this. Won't he have egg on his face.

While I realise it is often difficult to live one's life in accordance with a "good" or spiritual manner, to make the assertions of "x" being right & "y" being wrong in such a manner...It's just insulting and patronizing. Plain and simple

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to do some Pagan Xmas shopping...

The sound was too low, but not much of a problem. But it was a decent script, the voice acting was very good and the animation was excellent. I'd definitely like to see more of these in the future.

I'll fess up and say that when it came time to vote, I chose the blam over the protection. Given it a second look, between the animation and the sound, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Though I still think that it's, at best, on the bubble. But I can recognize the effort that's gone into it and, unlike some other animators, don't want to dissuade you from another try.

But I'm pissed that the higher-ups want to chastise me over my vote. There is an incredible amount of shit that gets submitted on this site.

Between the prebuescent boys with their inside, homophobic jokes, pissing contests about whether the Clock Crew was sent by God or whether they're a bunch of wankers, the endless shitty sprite animations (of which only a fraction show any originality or animation style), oh yeah, and all those god awful sticks, well, sweet merciful fuck, I got a little jaded. Sometimes I've even blown the whistle on some pieces that were just in bad taste, as opposed to being offensive, because of that.

But I don't want to get a finger wagged at me because I disagree with the NG gods. If this had more interactivity, maybe a plot, voice overs, you know, some of the things that your examples had to some degree, then maybe I protect it. Right now, I don't.

So to all NG staff who didn't like my first choice (and the others who agreed with me), just back the hell off with your righteous indignation. It's my call, it's my vote. I can appreciate good animation and I think I can judge most of what I see reasonably well, without having learned one iota of Flash.

I want to see, and will appreciate, high quality animations that come down the pipe here. I may not know much about art (and Flash), but I know what I like.
