Quandry No. 1

"The skin on the fan is such a nice touch..."

submission: Quandry No. 1
date: December 5, 2005

It reminds me alot of the Red Meat cartoon. Simply and stylishly drawn and sick as all fuck. Can't go wrong with that.

A Punch-Out Montage

"Now it's time to play America's favorite game..."

date: August 24, 2005

SPOT THE LATENT HOMO!!!!

...with all this protesting, I think some people are trying to overcompensate.

The sound, graphics and, yeah, the story were superb. The music was perfectly suited and gave a nice Raging Bull/Rocky theme for the first half of the movie.

Yeah, the second half was crass & depraved. But so what? That's what made this great. The shock factor at the end turned this away from being an overdramatised bit of sentiment for those who played this when they were younger. Especially with all these Mario, DBZ etc. "story" flashes out there, it was nice to see something different..

and sick :) Good job.

"YA GOTZ TO SUCK ME DRY MAC!"

Priceless

Historical facts-volume 1

"Odd"

date: August 6, 2005

The content itself is very interesting and it's the sort of history that's often not given prominence.

But the whole presentation was weird. You sounded very..upbeat, I guess, in describing the concentration camps in Transvaal for example. The content it self is very good (and the audio is actually clear and sharp, one of my pet peeves when viewing flash), but I don't know where you were coming from with this jovial approach. If it was some sort of sarcastic presentation, meant to portray the minimal "fluffy" recognition these events usually get in history classes, then it didn't come off the right way. But full marks for creativity, though it's not an animation, per se.

Author's Response:

You're right, I do sound upbeat. But with good reason: last time I submited this movie, I tried using a dour and somewhat monotous voice and the movie was blammed. So I shortend the number of countries and tried using diferent voices (as well as more "upbeat") so as to make the movie less "boring". I didn't try and make it sarcastic, however... in any case, thanks for the support and review.

I Rather Dislike London

"If you didn't care"

date: July 10, 2005

then why make a flash about it?

Yeah, fewer people died in London than in 9/11. So what?

I also had no attachment to these people and I didn't get caught up in the mass "groupthink" emtional response that always happens when people see something horrible on TV.

But that doesn't take away that it was a horrible act. Real people died, real people got hurt, real people were worried that people they cared about were trapped in a subway, maybe even dead.

I don't know if you have the humanity, or even the brain power, to realise what you did was a shitty thing to do. Would you like it if something made a flash mocking the bombing in Oklahoma City? Especially if someone you knew was hurt or died there?

I'd really love it if someone showed this to you when you had kids of your own years from now. Just to show you what a fucking douche you were.

Better yet, why don't you show this to a person who lost someone in the London attack, instead of hiding behind the security of your computer thousands of miles away, the big man that you are.

The Non-Livingstons #001

""Save it for your wedding night, son.""

date: April 23, 2005

Sick, twisted, evil stuff.

And it's brilliant. Anything that has Steven Seagal brains' being eaten is a goddamn work of art. Love the "50's" parents and the Leave it to Beaver opening dialogue. Perfect. I'm looking forward to the sequel

"Innovative idea"

date: December 14, 2004

It's an interesting idea for a flash and the style was reasonably executed. But the spelling errors killed it for me. It was hard seeing the suspense build and not have a word like 'cue' spelled correctly. It's stuff like that that holds this back from being really great. Just watch the small things next time.

Author's Response:

....Yeh spelling never was my fortae. soz

"Not bad at all"

submission: chongs revenge
date: November 25, 2004

Good effort for the first time. Your drawings weren't the best, but they weren't half bad. Plot was kind of linear, but at least it had one.

Though I've never heard any Asian ever say "Mista Round Eye" in my life. I only heard white trash say things like that when they're going on about Asian stereotypes.

Foamy Fan Mail 5 (A.T.A.)

"I used to watch these movies..."

date: June 3, 2004

Now I just read the reviews. It's far more entertaining to see the back and forth between the pro-Foamy and anti-Foamy forces.

I used to belong to the former, then to the latter, now I just don't care. Everytime an IWP movie gets done, I vote 2 (3 if it's Christmas, you know, goodwill to all men), I collect my protection point and move on.

It's obvious that IWP is going to do whatever he wants, public input be damned. In that way, he's no different than the entertainment industry. I'm not sure which will come first, "Dude, where's my car?" 3 or "Foamy Fan Mail" 10.

Foamy fans remind me of my older sister. She once thought Duran Duran was the cat's ass, when she was 13 (to those not young enough to know who these guys are, I'm sure it's in an encyclopedia somewhere..;). Now, after years of listening to other styles of music, she's embarassed that she ever started the local chapter of the fan club.

I don't want to mock IWP fans. But trust me, once you're exposed to Monty Python, Mr. Show, Benny Hill, Kids in the Hall among others, like I was, you'll wonder what you ever saw in this guy.

The irony of all this is that much of his earlier stuff, which I liked, is no longer on his website because he didn't reap enough $$$ from Foamy et al. to afford keeping it on. Oh, cruel fate...

Red Balloons

"This is an underdog, not a turd"

submission: Red Balloons
date: March 10, 2004

I love all the pubescent youngings who never understood what the original song stood for and what the balloons represented...ahhh..the callowness of youth...:)

I agree with some of the others that some of the graphics were very bad, but some weren't and the overall concept and how it was executed worked quite well, I think. Just have to work on the drawing part and it would be a pretty good flash.
